• To provide and personalize the Service, including AI-powered recommendations

• To send notifications about activity relevant to you (follows, replies, recommendations)

Marquee uses AI (powered by Google Gemini) to generate personalized movie recommendations, content analysis, and discovery features. Your ratings, watch history, and preferences are used as inputs to these systems to improve your experience.

Conversations with the AI concierge are stored temporarily for session context and may be used to refine your taste profile and improve recommendation accuracy. Conversations are not shared with third parties or used to train external AI models.

We do not sell your personal data to train third-party AI models.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

• Service providers — Infrastructure partners that help us operate the Service, under strict data processing agreements.
• Other users — Your public profile, ratings, reviews, and watchlists are visible to other users unless you enable Private Profile mode.
• Legal requirements — If required by law, legal process, or to protect our rights and safety.

Marquee provides the following privacy controls in Settings:

• Private Profile — When enabled, only approved followers can see your movies, ratings, and activity.
• Notification Preferences — Control which notifications you receive (follows, replies, recommendations, etc.).
• Block Users — Prevent specific users from viewing your profile or interacting with you.
• Account Deletion — You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting support.

Your data is stored securely with encryption at rest and in transit. We implement industry-standard security measures including row-level security policies, secure authentication, and access controls.

The Service integrates with third-party service providers for hosting, authentication, database services, email delivery, and AI-powered features. These providers process data under strict data processing agreements.

Core infrastructure is provided by Supabase (database and authentication) and Vercel (application hosting and edge delivery), both SOC 2 Type II compliant providers.

Movie and TV show data is provided by The Movie Database (TMDB). Streaming availability data and deep links are provided by Watchmode. AI-powered recommendations are generated using Google Gemini. We recommend reviewing their respective privacy policies for details on how they handle data.

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

• Right to Know — You may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
• Right to Delete — You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
